Sjøstrand Rorbuer
SJØSTRAND Rorbuer is located in an old traditional fish farm at Ballstad in Lofoten. Here, fishermen who ran the Lofoten fishing lived here, and the fish buyer with their employees. The fish farm was operated under the company name "Johan Rist", from the early 1900s. Eventually, 2 of his sons took over the daily operations. And from about 1950 the fish farm was run under the company name "Johan Rist & Sønner", and right up to 1985 it was operated with fish reception here. In 1991 we (Mary Ann & Børge) bought the place, which was then in very poor condition. The first thing we did was to prepare a reception for fish so that we could produce our own catch, so-called self-production.
Ballstadgutt
In the summer you can enjoy the Lofoten from the seaside by making use of the local route between Nusfjord and Ballstad.
